Boston Marathon Treadmill 3.0 Review – the Pros:
Boston Marathon HD Video Workouts
Filmed on the actual Boston course, the 3.0 treadmill comes with high definition video workouts that will help you train.
The treadmill also automatically adjusts the incline or decline to mimic the actual terrain. So it’s like you’re training for the actual Boston marathon right on your treadmill – very cool.
Full Color Console with Web Browser
You get a large 10 inch full color console with touch-screen web browser built. So you can surf the net, catch up with social media or watch YouTube videos as you run.
This treadmill also comes iFit LIVE compatible. With iFit LiVE you can go online and download new workouts to your treadmill. You can also graph and track you workouts over time for some more weight loss motivation.
Plus you can also run famous world trails and watch real-life scenery pass you by in the console screen. So if you don’t want to run the Boston Marathon, you can run through the streets of Paris – or along the shores of Hawaii. You can even map out your own trail using the Googlemaps feature.
The cadence coach is built into the console and gives you audible tone – like a metronome – to help you with your running pace. This is a great tool that long distance runners and trainers will appreciate.
Extra High 15 MPH Speed Limit
While most treadmills come with a top speed of 10 – 12 MPH, the Boston Marathon 3.0 treadmill gives you up to 15 MPH speed limits. This equates to running at a 4 minute mile pace, which marathon trainers will appreciate.
The treadmill also comes with a in-home efficiency booster which helps cut down on electricity usage.
20% Incline and 6% Decline
To add more training challenge, the 3.0 treadmill comes with up to 20% incline and even a 6% decline. This again helps add a more realistic feel to your training – especially when combined with the iFit LIVE or Boston Marathon trails (the treadmill will automatically incline or decline to match the actual terrain).
Boston Marathon Treadmill 3.0 Review – the Cons:
iFit LIVE Subscription Extra
While you don’t need iFit to use this treadmill, if you want all of the benefits (online tracking new workouts, world trails, etc.), you’ll need an online subscription – which is about $99 a year.
Does Not Fold
The Boston Marathon treadmill 3.0 does not fold up. Since many treadmills do fold up these days some people don’t realize this before they buy.
If you’re looking for something a bit more than a standard treadmill, you may want to consider the Boston Marathon 3.0 treadmill. It was designed in conjunction with Proform and the Boston Athletic Association specifically for marathon trainers and long distance runners.
So it makes sense that you get everything you need to take your training to the next level with this machine: virtual reality-like trails to run, Boston Marathon HD videos, cadence coaching, higher speed limits and more.
Overall this is not the treadmill for the occasional walker. But marathon trainers and runners will love it
