Benefits of the Performance 800i Treadmill
The Proform 800i treadmill is the premium model in Proform’s “Performance treadmills” series.
These are super-affordable treadmills that also give you something you don’t usually find on a starter treadmill: a full-color, HD, touch-screen console.
In fact, the Proform 800i has the largest console screen of any Performance model – a full 14-inches across.
This makes it a lot of fun to stream iFit studio workouts or run trails all over the world on your treadmill.
You also get a built-in tablet holder if you want to surf the web or watch Netflix or Hulu shows as you walk.

Proform 800i Treadmill Review – Benefits:
Large, Full-Color Touch Screen
You get a large 14-inch, full-color, HD touch screen in the console of this treadmill. You don’t usually find a full-color, HD console on a treadmill around $1000. So it’s a very cool feature to find here.
You can easily see your workout stats in full color with a swipe of your finger.
Or connect with iFit Coach and run trails anywhere in the world – enjoying the scenery in the console as you run (more on iFit Coach below).
There’s also an auxiliary music port with speakers. So you can plug in your phone and play your favorite workout tunes through the console speakers.
And you can make easy on-the-fly changes with the one-touch speed and incline buttons along the bottom of the console.
Longer 60-Inch Belt
The Proform 800i comes with a longer 60-inch belt than the Proform 400 or 600 Performance models. This gives you more room to stretch out and run.
Taller users will particularly appreciate the extra space on this treadmill – you can stretch out and run without feeling like you’re going to fall off the edge of the treadmill.
Explore Famous World Trails With iFit Coach
This treadmill comes iFit Coach compatible.
iFit Coach connects your treadmill to the Internet through your console and the WiFi in your home. From there you can do all sorts of fun things. You can run famous trails all over the world – from the streets of Paris to the Great Wall of China to the shores of Hawaii.
You’ll see the actual scenery pass you by in the console screen as you run, for some virtual reality fun.
You can choose to run on your own – or take a tour with a personal trainer who coaches you throughout the workout, pointing out various landmarks along the way.
Something else you can do?
Try a studio fitness class right from your treadmill!
You can choose from a large variety of different workouts – from beginner walking workouts to strength training to more intense HIIT training workouts.
You can also sync your results with iFit Coach and go online to see how far you’ve come. In fact, iFit can even send you personalized workouts and even diet recommendations to help you meet your stated goals.
The best part?
As of this writing, you can get a Free 1-year membership to iFit Coach included with the treadmill. So you can try it out for a full year to see if it’s right fow you.
(You don’t need iFit to use this treadmill – it works fine without it. iFit is just an add-on option if you want it).
The Proform Performance 800i treadmill also comes with a stronger motor than the 600i or 400i models – 2.75 HP. While it’s not the strongest motor Proform makes, it’s still pretty good and gives you that extra bit of protection.
Tablet Holder Above the Console
The Proform 800i also comes with another fun feature – a tablet holder above the console.
You can attach your tablet and surf the net or watch Netflix or YouTube videos as you walk or run. This can add a lot more fun and enjoyment to your workouts.
The Proform 800i gives you up to 10% incline – and also up to 2% decline for added crosstraining. This is another feature you don’t find on the other Performance models.
Walking downhill is a great way to rest from those high intensity intervals.
Folding with Shock Assist
Save space in your workout area with the easy-lift assisted folding on this treadmill. You can fold it up and lock the deck into place easily if you want to move the treadmill or just clean around it.
Proform Performance 800 Treadmill – Any Drawbacks?
While the decline is a great addition to this treadmill – you only get up to 10% incline. That should be fine for most people, but if you want more of a challenge you may have to go up to the 15% inclines on the Proform Pro treadmills.
Also, while there is a stability bar under the console – it doesn’t actually serve as a holding tray like you get on other Proform models.
If you’re want a fun, premium treadmill – without the premium price tag, the Proform 800i is a fantastic option.
It gives you some good basics like a strong 2.75 HP motor, longer 60-inch belt, folding and up to 10% incline.
Plus you get one of the largest, full-color, HD touch-screens that Proform makes – which makes the iFit Coach workouts a lot more fun to watch.
While it’s not a commercial-grade treadmill, it’s a great mix of entertainment – and affordability.
