Pros and Cons of the Proform Pro 2000 Treadmill
The Proform 2000 treadmill is one of Proform’s more popular models and even earned a “Best Buy” recommendation this year from a leading consumer magazine.
Not surprising as it offers two things – both a great price (under $1500) and some solid construction.
You get a solid 3.5 HP motor that will power you through walking or running workouts – along with a large, bright backlit console, making your fitness stats easy to read.
The treadmill also comes with the iFit option – so you can add future new workouts or explore new trails using Googlemaps.
So how does it measure up in terms of value? Here’s a few things you should know:

Proform Pro 2000 Review – Pros:
Large Running Deck
The Proform Pro 2000 has an extra long 60 inch and extra wide 22 inch running deck.
This is one of the largest running areas Proform makes and it’s a bit surprising to find it on a mid-level model. You get more room to move and won’t feel like you’re on the edge of the belt.
Decline and Incline
The treadmill gives you 15% incline and 3% decline. The decline option is a great way to challenge your body and built some extra crosstraining intervals into your workout.
iFit LIVE Option
iFit LIVE is an ultra-hip technology that lets you do some amazing things with your treadmill. You can download and add new workouts to your treadmill – including some from celebrity trainer Jillian Michaels. You can sync and track your workouts online to see how far you’ve come and set new goals.
You can even map out new trails using Googlemaps or choose from several pre-designed famous world trails like Barcelona or Hawaii to run.
Large Backlit Console
The Console on this treadmill – while not the best one that Proform makes, is still very bright and easy to read. It’s simple and well laid out with one-touch buttons to change your speed and incline. Plus you also get an iPod dock with speakers to listen to your favorite tunes.
Added Accessories Tray
There’s an added train below the console to store your keys, remote, or rolled-up magazines. This may seem like a small thing – but it’s extremely handy during long workouts.
Free Wireless Heart Rate Monitor
The Proform 2000 Pro comes with a free wireless heart rate monitor, which sends info to the console to give you constant heart rate feedback. Many people prefer wireless monitors because they tend to give you more accurate results.
Proform Pro 2000 Treadmill – Cons:
iFit LIVE Subscription Required
Because this model does not have the module built in, you’ll have to purchase the iFit LIVE module and a yearly subscription to use iFIT. You don’t need iFit to use this treadmill – but if you want the benefits the iFit offers, you’ll need the module and subscription.
Dual Color Console
The Pro 2000 has a dual color console – not full color like the other Pro Series treadmills. So you lose a bit when it comes to iFit and entertainment options. Still for this price point, it’s still better than you get with several other brands.
The Proform Pro 2000 treadmill is a decent mid-line treadmill. You get some strong basics and extra-large belt. The console – while simple – is well laid out and easy to read.
Overall, it’s not the most entertaining treadmill Proform offers, but for the price point, it’s great value and covered by an extra-long warranty.
