Pros and Cons of the Yowza Daytona Home Treadmill
The Yowza Daytona has been around for a few years now and gets very good reviews all around.
It’s built as a runner-friendly treadmill with strong motor, excellent Swing-arm cushioning, extra long belt and high user weight capacity.
Plus it comes with Yowza’s Intelligent Weight Management system to help you reach your weight loss goals easily.
We also like the Swing-arm cushioning which helps reduce the impact on your joints and knees – which is also great for runners.

Yowza Daytona Treadmill Review – the Pros:
Intelligent Weight Management System
The wireless scale (included free with this treadmill) detects minute changes in your weight of up to 0.1 kg. It then relays new workout instructions to your treadmill, changing your daily workout to help you burn off any extra calories you have had the day before.
So if you want an easy way to maintain your weight (without expensive diets or personal trainers), this is a great way to do it.
Swing Arm Cushioning
This is an excellent cushioning system that gives and springs back with your foot, absorbing 63% more impact than a standard treadmill deck. So you get some excellent added protection for your joints, knees, hips and back.
Here’s a video of how it works (although note that the treadmill in the video is NOT the Daytona):
9 User Memory
Another highlight is the 9 user slots. This feature saves the information (age, weight, fitness level) for up to 9 different users.
So you don’t have to re-enter it all in every time you go to use the treadmill (which can be a pain). So it’s a great feature for multi-user families.
iPod Docking and Charging
You can dock and charge your iPod or other MP3 device and listen to your favorite tunes through the built-in speakers. Although this isn’t a necessary feature to have, it’s still very popular and will make your workouts more enjoyable.
Extra Long 60 Inch Belt
While this is not unique to Yowza treadmills, you do get a generous 60 inch belt for extra room to stretch out and run. This is also great for taller users.
Wireless Heart Rate Tracking
This treadmill also comes with a wireless heart rate tracking feature. A lot of people prefer wireless tracking because it tends to give you more accurate results than a hand grip sensor.
Yowza Daytona Review – the Cons
No Updates In A Few Years
While this isn’t really a “con”, the Daytona has not been updated in several years. So other newer treadmills like the Nordictrack Commercial 1750 are starting to surpass it and offer more for the money.
Does Not Fold
Again – this is not a con. But we thought we’d mention it because the Yowza website is not the best at informing people about all of the details of this treadmill.
While 12% is decent – we would have expected 15% at this price point.
If you’re looking for a strong runners treadmill built to take more of a beating than cheaper models, the Daytona might be worth checking out. It offers excellent construction and cushioning that gives you a lot less impact than starter treadmills.
