Lifespan TR200 Treadmill Review
Benefits of the Lifespan TR200 Compact Treadmill

The Lifespan TR200 treadmill is a specialized treadmill from Lifespan built to take up very little space.
It actually won a “Best Buy” from a Consumer Magazine in 2011 for Compact Treadmills.
You can see why. Unlike a lot of compact units on the market, it has some great features like incline, built-in workouts and a backlit console.
Plus there’s an iPod dock with speakers and built-in magazine rack for some entertainment options.
So is it right for you? Here’s what you need to know:

Benefits of the Lifespan TR200 Compact Treadmill:
Compact
In addition to being much shorter and smaller than a regular treadmill when in use, it also folds up to be almost flat. In fact it’s just 11 inches high when folded.
This makes it easy to store in a closet or even under a bed. It’s also lighter weight than other treadmills – making it easy to move around (and even take with you if you’re ambitious and have the room in your car).
The size of the treadmill makes it ideal for condos, apartments or just smaller workout areas.
Cushioning System – There is One
The problem with almost all compact treadmills is that they have very poor – if nonexistent – cushioning. There’s just no give in the deck when you walk pound on it. But the Lifespan TR200 actually does have some give in it. It’s not the best cushioning – but for a compact unit it’s better than most.
Backlit Console
A lot of compact models do not have backlit consoles – which makes it hard to read your workout stats. The TR200 console is bright and backlit. Plus it’s well laid out and simple to figure out.
There’s also a magazine rack built in and an iPod dock with speakers for some extra walking fun.
It Comes Fully Assembled
You just take it out of the box and go. There’s no fiddling with screws or reading manuals for hours or yelling at your significant other in frustration. That’s a big bonus.
10 Levels of Incline
Most compact treadmills don’t give you incline – but you get 10 levels of incline with the TR200. This can add some welcome challenge (and extra calorie-burning) to your workouts.
Drawbacks of the Lifespan TR200 Compact Treadmill:
It’s a Compact Treadmill
While this is a plus – it can also be a minus if you’re comparing it to non-compact treadmills. It just doesn’t give you as much in terms of motor power, belt length or workout options. So don’t compare it to non-compact units, it’s just not a fair comparison.
Small Belt
Because it’s made to be “compact”, the belt is on the small side. This is a flaw every compact treadmill will suffer from. If you’re taller, you might be better going with a smaller “standard” treadmill.
Bottom Line?
If you’re looking for a compact, portable treadmill from a well-respected brand name, the Lifespan TR200 is a great option. It gives you some features you don’t normally get with a compact treadmill like incline, backlit console, cushioning and heart rate monitor.
Plus it comes in at a great price – usually under $700 – and it comes full assembled in the box. So all you do is take it out and start your workout.
