Nautilus T614 Treadmill Review – The Benefits:
Backlit Console
Although it’s not the largest console window at this price point, the window is still easy to read and backlit showing your workout time, distance traveled and calories burned. There’s also quick change speed and incline buttons for on-the-fly changes and an easy-to-reach-safety stop button.
They layout of the console is quite good – easy, intuitive with quick start and stop buttons.
You also get an MP3 input port with speakers. So you can plug in your phone or other device and play your workout tunes through the console speakers.
Media Shelf
There’s a shelf above the console where you can put your tablet or other devices. So you can watch Netfliex or YouTube videos as you run – or surf the net.
Plus, because it’s above the console, it does not cover the windows so you can still see your workout stats.
22 Built-in Workouts
Challenge yourself with the 22 different built-in workouts on this treadmill. These include manual/quick goal (calorie, distance, time), weight control, intervals, performance training, heart health, and custom workouts.
Folding to Save Space
The Nautilus T614 folds up easily to save space. It locks in place and the softdrop design makes it easier to fold and unfold the unit. Plus, there are wheels on the bottom for easy transport.
Heart Rate Monitor
There is a hand grip sensor to track your heart rate as you workout. While most treadmill do have this, we thought that the ergonomic, slanted design of these hand grips were a nice touch – a bit more comfortable than some other ones.
Nautilus T614 Treadmill Review – Any Drawbacks?
Basic
The Nautilus T614 treadmill falls a bit short when compared to similarly priced treadmills. For example the Nordictrack T7.5 treadmill comes in for a similar price and has a stronger motor, longer belt, plus a full-color, HD touch-screen display.
Not for Runners
With the shorter belt and basic construction, this treadmill should be fine for walkers. But runners may want to upgrade to a stronger treadmill like the Nautilus T618 model – which is built for tougher workouts.
Bottom Line?
If you like the Nautilus name and want a sturdy, quiet, basic treadmill for a great price, you really can’t go too far wrong with the T614 treadmill. It has decent basics and a few comfort touches like the media shelf and built-in workouts.
It is a starter treadmill so runners or heavier users may want to go with something a bit more sturdy. But overall this is a decent choice – especially if you can get it under $1000.
