Nautilus T616 Treadmill Review – The Benefits:
Backlit Console with Media Shelf
While it’s not the most advanced console out there, the console on this treadmill is bright, backlit and easy to read. There are more feedback windows than the T614 model giving you a steady stream of workout stats.
There’s also a media shelf you can use above the console windows to store your tablet or phone. You can then surf the net or watch Netflix or YouTube videos as you run – adding some entertainment to your workout.
There’s also a USB charging port in the console. So you never have to worry about running out of power on your phone or tablet during your workouts.
And to stay cool, just turn on the multi-speed fan in the console for some added comfort.
Run World Trails with RunSocial
RunSocial is a free social running app you can use with this treadmill to sync your workouts. You can run different world trails and watch the scenery pass you by in your tablet window for some virtual reality fun.
You can also run with your friends or join other running events as well. While the graphics are not as good as some other programs out there, it is free.
MP3 Port with Speakers
You can also plug in your phone and play your favorite workout music through the console speakers for more workout motivation.
Goal Tracking
With the Bluetooth connectivity and the free Bowflex tracking app you can track your workouts over time, set new calorie, time and fitness goals for some fitness motivation.
Get Your Fitness Score
The Nautilus T616 treadmill comes with something called the Nautilus Fitness Score. This program calculates your fitness level after every workout (if you want it). That way you can enjoy watching as your fitness level improves over time.
Wireless Heart Rate Monitor
You can use the EKG hand grip sensors in front of the treadmill console to get a heart rate reading. You can also use a wireless chest strap to get a more accurate heart rate reading.
Plus, if you get the Nautilus T616 treadmill through the Manufacturer, you can get a Free wireless heart rate chest strap included with your treadmill.
Nautilus 616 Treadmill – Any Drawbacks?
The console on this treadmill is dated and simple – especially when compared to similarly priced Nordictrack treadmills or Proform treadmills that give you large, full-color, HD touch-screen consoles.
Also, runners may want to upgraded to the Nautilus T618 treadmill which has a tougher 3-ply belt, stronger 3.5 HP motor and a heavier unit weight for added stability.
Bottom Line?
The Nautilus T616 treadmill is a super-affordable treadmill with some great features to it. It’s a huge upgrade on the T614 model with a higher incline, longer belt, stronger motor and Bluetooth connectivity.
For these reasons alone, it’s a better buy than the T614 model.
It does fall down a bit especially in terms of console and entertainment toys. Still, if you just want a simple, well-built treadmill with good basics (15% incline, 60 inch long belt, 26 built-in workouts) for a fantastic price, it’s worth considering.
