Pros and Cons of the New Nordictrack T7.5 Treadmill

Nordictrack 7.5 Treadmill

The Nordictrack T7.5S treadmill is a new under-$1000 treadmill for this year.

It replaces the uber-popular (and now discontinued) Nordictrack C990 Treadmill – with a few more perks.

One of the best things about this treadmill?

A full-color, HD, touch-screen console!

So you can see your workout stats in full color – or run famous world trails with iFit and watch the scenery pass you by in the console screen.

You also get an impressive 3.0 HP motor and up to 12% incline for added challenge.

Nordictrack T7.5S Console

Nordictrack T7.5S Treadmill Review – Benefits:

Large, Full-Color Touch Screen

You get an impressive 7-inch, full-color, HD touch screen in the console of this treadmill. You don’t usually find a full-color touch-screen console on a treadmill under $1000. So it’s a great little find here.

You can view your workout progress in the screen in full color.

Or connect with iFit Coach and run trails anywhere in the world – enjoying the scenery in the console as you run (more on iFit Coach below).

There’s also an mp3 port for your phone and built-in console speakers. So you can plug in your phone and play your favorite workout tunes through the console speakers.

Another bonus? Stay cool with the dual-speed cooling fan during those extra-long workouts.

Explore the World With iFit

iFit Coach connects your treadmill to the Internet. From there you can do all sorts of fun things. You can run famous trails all over the world.

Hike through the Swiss Alps or run along the shores of the Amalfi Coast, watching famous landmarks pass you by in the console screen for some virtual reality fun.

You can choose to run on your own – or take a tour with a personal trainer who coaches you throughout the workout, pointing out interesting landmarks along the way.

Another cool thing you can do?

Take a high-energy fitness class right from your treadmill!

You can choose from a large variety of different workouts – from beginner walking workouts to strength training to more intense HIIT training workouts.

You can follow different trainers that you like or try something completely new.

You can also sync your results with iFit Coach and go online to see how far you’ve come. In fact, iFit can even send you personalized workouts and even diet recommendations to help you meet your stated goals.

The good news?

While iFit is usually a monthly subscription service, if you get the Nordictrack T7.5S treadmill through the manufacturer, you can get a Free 1-year subscription to iFit Coach included. So you can try it out for the full year to see if you like it.

(You don’t need iFit to use this treadmill – it works fine without it. iFit is just an add-on option if you want it).

Strong 3.0 HP Motor

The Nordictrack 7.5 upgrades from the T6.5Si treadmill with a stronger motor. The stronger motor means it can stand up a bit better to longer or more intense workouts with ease.

Up to 12% Incline Matching Technology

The Nordictrack T7.5 also gives you a higher incline than the T6.5Si model (12% vs 10%). Plus, the treadmill matches the actual terrain of whatever world trail you’re running – for a more immersive training experience.

Adjustable Cushioning

This treadmill comes with adjustable cushioning. You can turn the dampeners up or down depending on what kind of cushioning you want.

Turn it on for more cushioning protection. Or for more of a “road” feel, you can turn it off which locks out cushioning dampeners for a firmer surface feel.

Extra Accessories Tray

There’s an added accessories tray in the stability bar under the console on this treadmill. This is a great way to stash your keys, phone or remote.

50 Built-in Workouts

Not sure you want to use the iFit Coach workouts? No problem. This treadmill also comes with 50 different built-in workouts. So you have a lot of ways to challenge yourself on this machine.

Nordictrack T7.5 Treadmill – Drawbacks?

While the basics are great here – this is still a starter treadmill. It doesn’t have the kind of motor power or construction that you find on Nordictrack’s higher end models like the Commercial 1750 for instance.

If you’re a runner or plan on  longer, more intense workouts,  you may want to spend a bit more and look at one of the mid-range models like the 1750.

Also, the console window here is a bit smaller than the Nordictrack T6.5Si model. But in contast, it carries a stronger motor, longer belt and higher incline than the T6.5 Si model. So it’s stronger on the construction side than the T6.5 Si treadmill (but suffers a bit with a smaller console).

Bottom Line?

The Nordictrack T7.5S treadmill is a great mix of strong construction and entertainment options for a starter treadmill.

It gives you an impressive 3.0 HP motor, extra long 60-inch belt and up to 12% incline.

Plus you can travel the world with iFit Coach or get interactive training from your console. You can also plug in your iPhone and play workout tunes through the console or take one of the 50 built-in workouts if you need extra challenge.

While it’s not a commercial-grade model, it’s still one of the strongest starter treadmills on the market right now.
