How Does It Compare?

Nordictrack X11i Incline Treadmill

Looking for something beyond a traditional treadmill?

The Nordictrack X11i treadmill is what’s known as an incline trainer treadmill

This means it works like a regular treadmill – but instead of giving you up to 15% incline, you get up to 40% incline.

So you have a lot more room to grow with this treadmill than with a traditional treadmill.

High incline walking can also burn up to 5 times more calories than regular treadmill walking – giving you faster results in less time.

The Nordictrack X11i is currently the most affordable model in the incline trainer lineup, making it attractive price-wise as well.

Is it a good buy for you?

Here’s a dive into how it works, what you get and how to save:

Nordictrack X11i Treadmill Review – Benefits:

Faster Results in Less Time

High incline walking uses more lower body muscles than regular plane walking – which incinerates calories. In fact, according to the Manufacturer, you can burn up to 5 times more calories on an incline trainer vs a regular treadmill.

So you can see weight loss and toning results very quickly on this machine.

Another benefit?

You can get a great workout in less time.  If you don’t have a lot of time to workout, you can burn just as many calories on one of these machines as a regular treadmill – but in less time.

These treadmills are also great for HIIT training – which again helps to burn more calories even post workout.

Better Crosstraining with 6% Decline

Add some crosstraining to your workout with up to 6% decline as well. This is a deeper decline than you get on Nordictrack’s Commercial treadmills (which only give you up to 3% decline). So again, you’re getting a little more in the way of crosstraining options with this model.

The decline is also a great way to take a break after a particularly intense interval training session.

Full-Color Touch Screen

There’s an interactive, HD full-color console on this unit. So you can see your workout statistics in full color as you run.

You can also connect directly to iFit Coach and run all over the world – from Hawaii to Thailand – enjoying the scenery through your console as you run. Or take a high-energy fitness class from your console if you need extra challenge.

Explore the World with iFit Coach

iFit Coach is Nordictrack’s streaming online service that gives you a ton of fun and challenging things to do on your treadmill.

You can connect through your console screen and from there choose from thousands of different video workout. You can take a high-energy fitness class – including ones that are created specifically for the incline trainer.

You can also run trails all over the world – from the shores of Hawaii to the hills of the Grand Canyon – and see the scenery pass you by in the console screen.

With iFit you can also get personalized fitness and diet recommendations based on your stated goals. You can even map out new trails to run using Googlemaps.

iFit Workout

The best part?

While iFit coach is usually a monthly subscription streaming service, if you get the Nordictrack X11i treadmill through the manufacturer, you can get a 1 year subscription to iFit Coach included.

So you can try it for the full year to see if you like it.

(You don’t need iFit Coach to use this treadmill – it works fine without it. iFit is just an optional add-on if you want it).

Here’s a taste of a few of the new iFit Coach workouts and what they look like:

More Room To Move

At 22 x 60 inches, this is one of the largest (and widest) belts on the market at this price point. This gives you extra room to stretch out and run. It’s also ideal for taller users.

Heart Rate Monitor

You can track your heart rate on this machine with a wireless heart rate monitor. As of this writing, you can currently get a Free wireless heart rate monitor with the treadmill.

A lot of people prefer a wireless monitor since it tends to be more accurate than EKG hand grips sensors.

Nordictrack X11i Incline Treadmill – Any Drawbacks?

Does Not Fold

Because of the limits of a high-incline treadmill design, none of the incline trainers – including the X11i model – fold up. So if you’re looking for a folding treadmill, you may want to consider a regular Nordictrack treadmill.

No Hand Grip Sensors

The Nordictrack X11 does not come with EKG hand grip sensors to monitor your heart rate (which may not matter to you since you’re getting the wireless chest strap).

Bottom Line?

If you’re looking for something beyond a traditional treadmill, something that will give you faster results in less time, you’ll love the Nordictrack X11i high incline treadmill.

With the super-high incline, you have a lot more room to grow with this treadmill than with a standard treadmill. Plus with the iFit Coach, 44 built-in workouts and Mp3 port with speakers, you have a lot of ways to add some challenge and variety to your workouts.
