These are both super-popular, runner-friendly treadmills that come in around the similar price points. They both give you a lot of value for the money – including strong 3.75 HP motors, long 60-inch running decks and iFit compatibility

Both treadmills also have 10-inch, full-color, HD, touch-screen consoles. So you can see your workout stats in full color – or connect directly with iFit and run trails all over the world or take fitness classes from your console.

So what’s the difference between these two treadmills?

And which one is best for you?

Here’s a rundown of the 6 main differences between the Proform 5000 vs Nordictrack 1750 treadmill to help you decide.

Proform 5000 vs Nordictrack 1750: Price

The price does tend to jump around a bit on these treadmills. However, as of this writing the Proform 5000 is about $1599 with Free Shipping here.

The Nordictrack 1750 has been upgraded for 2020 and you can get it for around $1799 with Free Shipping here.

Proform 5000 vs Nordictrack 1750: Console

While both treadmills give you the same size, full-color, HD touch screen with one-touch buttons, iPhone port and speakers, the layouts are a bit different.

Here’s the Proform 5000 console:

And here’s the Nordictrack 1750 console:

Nordictrack 1750 Console

As you can see the Proform 5000 console is a bit more square with one-touch buttons along the bottom.

The Nordictrack 1750 is a bit more curved with one-touch buttons along the sides of the screen. One isn’t better than another – it’s really just a personal preference.

Nordictrack 1750 vs Proform 5000: Cushioning

Proform 5000 vs Nordictrack 1750: Tablet Holder

As of this writing, the Proform 5000 treadmill comes with a tablet holder included. So you can attach your tablet and surf the net or watch shows as you run.

The Nordictrack 1750 treadmill does not come with a tablet holder (however you can always pick up a cheap tablet holder from a local store – so this isn’t really a dealbreaker).

Interactive Drive System

The new 2020 Nordictrack 1750 has been upgraded with a new interactive drive system. There are now 2 motors – one for your incline and one for your speed control.

This means that the treadmill responds faster – in real time – to the iFit world trails and the streaming fitness classes. It also means that the treadmill responds faster when you change the incline or speed yourself with the console controls.

This is a subtle thing – but a lot of people like it since it’s a bit closer to virtual-reality training on the iFit trails. The treadmill just responds faster to your iFit Trainer instructions – or to the incline of the terrain that you’re running.

This system also makes the treadmill run even quieter than before. The Proform 5000 has not been updated with this new drive system yet.

Next-Gen Bluetooth Speakers

The Nordictrack 1750 was also updated this year with Next-Gen Bluetooth speakers. This means you can sync up your music playlist to the built-in console speakers with no cables or plug-ins necessary.

The Proform 5000 does not have this as yet.

Bottom Line?

So what’s the bottom line when comparing the Proform 5000 vs Nordictrack 1750 treadmills?

Well, they’re both strong treadmills with tough motors, extra-long running belts, incline AND decline.

However the Proform 5000 comes with a slightly different console layout as well as a tablet holder. Plus it’s slightly more affordable.

The Nordictrack 1750 gives you adjustable cushioning, a new interactive drive system for faster changes and Next-Gen Bluetooth speakers.

So it depends on what you really want.
