Proform Premier 900 Treadmill Review
Pros and Cons of the NEW 2016 Proform Premier 900

The Proform Premier 900 Treadmill is brand new for 2016, coming in at the very popular under-$1000 price point.
And it has something that most treadmills at this price point does not: a full color touch screen web browser.
So you can surf the net, read emails or go online to iFit LIVE and run trails all over the world with this console.
You also get a very respectable 3.0 HP motor and up to 12% incline for those extra long, extra-challenging workouts.
So how does the Proform Premier 900 stack up? Is it a good buy for you? Here’s what you need to know to help you decide:
The Basics:
Price: $999 + Free Shipping
Motor: 3.0 HP
Incline: 0 – 12%
Belt: 20 x 55″
Folding? Yes
Weight Capacity: 325
Warranty: Lifetime Frame & Motor Warranty, 2-Year Parts Warranty, and 1-Year Labor Warranty.
Proform Premier 900 Treadmill Review – the Pros:
Full Color Console
With the exception of the Nordictrack C990 treadmill, this is the only treadmill under $1000 that currently carries the full-color touch screen web browser.
Considering most treadmills at this price point give you a dual color console (and no web browser), this alone makes the Premier 900 a great value.
You can go online and surf the net, read emails or watch YouTube videos all while working out – which is guaranteed to make your workouts a lot more enjoyable.
iFit LIVE
This treadmill also comes iFit LIVE compatible. With iFit LiVE you can go online and download new workouts to your treadmill. You can also graph and track you workouts over time for some more weight loss motivation.
Plus you can also run famous world trails and watch real-life scenery pass you by in the console screen, very virtual reality.
3.0 HP Motor
The motor is dynamically spin balanced and covered by a lifetime warranty. For this price point, the motor power is excellent and easily powers the belt through longer, more intense workouts.
Tablet Holder
You can also use the tablet holder above the console to attach your tablet and watch your favorite movies or Netflix shows for example. And because it doesn’t cover the console window, you can watch your tablet while tracking your workout stats or surfing the net as well.
2 Ways to Track Heart Rate
You can use the EKG hand sensors to get a heart rate reading. Or you can also use a Bluetooth wireless chest strap (sold separately) to stay in your target fat-burning zone.
30 Built-In Workouts
If you don’t want to try iFit right away, no problem, the treadmill also comes with 30 built-in workouts to add some challenge to your routine. Workouts are designed by a certified personal trainer and automatically adjust the treadmill incline and speed.
Proform Premier 900 Treadmill Review – the Cons:
iFit LIVE Subscription
While you don’t need iFit to use this treadmill – or the web browser – if you want to try iFit, you’ll need a yearly subscription (about $99 a year).
No Wireless Heart Rate Monitor
While the treadmill is compatible with a wireless monitor, it does not come with the treadmill. You have to buy it separately.
Bottom Line?
The Proform Premier 900 promises to be a very popular treadmill in the Under-$1000 price range this year. It’s one of the only treadmills (the other one being the Nordictrack C990) that gives you the full color console with web browser, which makes a huge difference in the enjoyment of your workout.
It also carries a strong motor, 12% incline and up to 12 MPH speed limit which gives you a bit more room to grow.
Overall it’s ranks up there for one of the best value buys this year.
