What To Know Before You Buy

Proform Thinline Pro Treadmill Review
Proform Thinline Pro

The Proform Thinline Pro is a runner-grade treadmill with built-in desk option. It recently won a “Best Buy” award from Women’s Health Magazine.

The Pro model is an upgrade to Proform’s original Thinline desk treadmill.

It gives you a stronger motor and a vertically-adjustable console. So you can adjust the desk height to be more ergonomically correct – great for longer walking workouts.

You get a lot of the Proform “perks” too like iFit LIVE, incline and decline plus 40 built-in workouts.

So is it a good buy for you? Here’s a rundown of what you should know:

The Basics:

Belt: 22 x 60″

Benefits of the Proform Thinline Pro Desk Treadmill:

Can Be Used As A Treadmill Or As A Workstation

You have the flexibility to use this machine as a regular treadmill with full console or as a workstation. Just fold the top console down and use it as a workspace (and still have side handrail controls to set your speed and incline).

Or lift the console up and see your workout stats to use it as a standard treadmill (for running workouts for example.)

It also integrates with your tablet whether the console is folded down in desk mode – or folded up in regular mode.

Vertically Adjustable Console Height

You can easily move the console up and down with the touch of a button. So you can make the desk more ergonomically friendly. This is especially great if you plan on working on your treadmill for long hours – you’ll notice that it makes for a much more comfortable work time.

Control the Treadmill From Your Tablet

This is a very cool option. You can slide your tablet into the console slot and the treadmill syncs automatically with your tablet. So you can control your speed, incline, and decline all from your tablet.

Super-Thin Folded Up

The “thinline” in this treadmill means that it folds up super thin and compact. The treadmill actually folds up with a 12-inch width at its thinnest.

This is really handy for example if you have a home office with limited space and you want to be able to fold the treadmill up out of the way when done.

The Proform Thinline Pro desk treadmill comes with iFit LIVE. This means you can go online and download new workouts from celebrity trainer Jillian Michaels.

You can run world-famous trails all over the world using Googlemaps or even map out your own trail. And if you have a tablet, you can connect this and watch actual landmarks pass you by in the screen.

Incline AND Decline

Most other desk treadmills on the market (like Lifespan for example) do not give you incline. But the Proform Thinline Pro treadmill gives you both 12% incline AND 3% decline for added crosstraining.

Fully Assembled in Box

Don’t want to spend hours putting a treadmill together? No problem. The Thinline Pro comes pretty much fully assembled already.

You do have to attach the base brace but that’s it – there’s no complicated wiring or belt adjustments.

Drawbacks of the Proform Thinline Pro Desk Treadmill

If you don’t have a tablet to use with this treadmill, you don’t get as much from the iFit LIVE graphics (as the actual console is a bit limited due to the folding desktop design). So getting a yearly subscription to iFit LIVE with this treadmill if you don’t have a tablet may not be worth it.

 Bottom Line?

If you’re looking for a well-made, vertically adjustable desk treadmill, the Thinline Pro is definitely worth considering. It gives you strong basics of a good treadmill (3.0 motor, extra large belt, excellent warranty and strong deck).

Plus you also get some great features that let you use it as a regular treadmill for exercise workouts as well (like incline/decline, built-in workouts, iFit LIVE, etc.)

You can see a great vide of how it works at the manufacturer’s site here.
