Sole F65 Treadmill Review
Is the Sole F65 A Good Buy For You?

The Sole F65 is one of the newer treadmills from Sole. It’s a step up from the starter Sole F63 model, with a larger console, stronger motor and a bit more weight to it for added stability.
It also has the famous CushionFlex cushioning which reduces impact on your joints by up to 40% (vs road running).
The side handrail controls are a convenient way to make speed changes on the fly. And the double horseshoe folding frame was specially designed to make the folding treadmill just as stable as a non-folding unit.

Sole F65 Treadmill – The Pros:
Extra Cushioning Protection
Sole has one of the best cushioning systems on the market with the Cushion Flex system. It’s been proven in a university study to reduce impact on your joints by 40% as compared with road running.
This makes the F65 a great option for those who are prone to shin splints or who have problems with their knees, hips or back.
Larger Backlit Console
The console on the F65 is slightly larger than the F63 model – making it easier to see your workout stats. You get a constant display of your speed, incline, time, distance traveled, calories, pulse, and pace information.
There’s also a scrolling message board that guides you through your workout – and gives you a summary of your workout after your finished. And the console also has a quarter-mile track display, which runners especially really like to see.
Side Handrail Controls
You can easily change the speed and incline from the side handrails as you walk or run. This may seem like a small thing but a lot of treadmill users really like it. You don’t have to reach up to the console to change speed or incline – which can throw off your stride.
iPod Dock
Plug in your iPod or mp3 player into the console and listen to your favorite tunes as you walk – which can make your workouts a lot more enjoyable. This is becoming a fairly common feature on most treadmills nowadays – but it’s nice to have here anyways.
2 Ways To Monitor Your Heart Rate
You can monitor your heart rate in 2 ways – with the pulse grips or with the a wireless chest strap (note wireless chest strap does not come with this treadmill). Most people prefer the wireless monitor as it’s easier than continually holding on to the hand senors.
Double Horseshoe Folding Frame
The frame design on this treadmill came out of Sole’s work providing their treadmills to Hotels like Hilton and Omni. They needed a folding treadmill that was just as stable as a non-folding treadmill (that could be easily wheeled in and out of hotel rooms.)
Because of this the Sole F65 folds up to save space – but it also feels super-solid when you run on it.
Sole F65 Treadmill Review – The Cons:
The F65 does not carry some of the perks you get with the higher end models like the F80. For example the deck is not as large as the F80 and the console is smaller.
Also Sole hasn’t really updated their treadmills in a few years now – and other brands like Nordictrack are passing them by.
The Sole F65 may have excellent construction – but the technology is a bit dated. There’s no connectivity or ability to track your workouts. And the console graphics don’t stand up to other similarly priced models like the Nordictrack 1650 which has a full-color console with web browser.
Bottom Line?
The F65 treadmill is a solid step-up from the F63 model. If you’re looking for a bit of a tougher build – for a budget price it’s definitely excellent value for the money.
The main drawback is that it falls down in terms of entertainment options. But if you don’t care about that, you’ll probably love this treadmill.
