Sole TT8 Light Commercial Treadmill Review – the Pros:

 Commercial-Grade Construction

The TT8 is built tougher than Sole’s starter models including the grated reinforced framework to give it extra stability and durability. They also use 3 inch rollers (which can help reduce static and prolong the life of your treadmill).

Plus there’s also a huge 4.0 HP motor with a 10lb. flywheel for smooth and consistent power.

What does all this mean for you? Well, it basically means that the TT8 can stand up to more use and abuse than other home treadmills on the market.

It also comes with a light commercial warranty as well as a home warranty – so it was basically built for light commercial settings like condo or office building gyms.

22 Inch Wide Belt

The belt on this unit has been widened from 20 to 22 inches across. It’s also fairly long at 60 inches.

This gives you extra room to move and stretch out. While this used to be one of the main selling points of the TT8 treadmill, it’s fair to note that you can now find 22 inch belts on more affordable models like the F80 and the Nordictrack 1750.

Cushion Flex Cushioning

Sole has one of the best cushioning systems on the market with the Cushion Flex system.  It’s been proven in a university study to reduce impact on your joints by 40% as compared with road running.

This makes the TT8 ideal for runners who need the extra protection on the knees, hips and back.

Cooling System For Extended Use

The Sole TT8 Light Commercial Treadmill is built with a motor cooling system which allows for extended usage with multiple users or long runs without the potential of overheating.

Side Handrail Controls

You can easily change the speed and incline from the side handrails as you walk or run. This may seem like a small thing but a lot of buyers really like it. You don’t have to reach up to the console to change speed or incline – which can throw off your stride.

Free Wireless Chest Strap

You can monitor your heart rate in 2 ways – with the pulse grips or with the free wireless chest strap included with the Sole TT8. Many people prefer the wireless monitor as it’s more convenient than continually holding on to the hand sensors.

Sole TT8 Light Commercial Treadmill – The Cons:

There aren’t a lot of cons here. The TT8 is a bit lacking in the entertainment options department. You do get an iPod dock and 6 built-in workouts. But no online tracking or extras.

The TT originally stood for “twenty-two” inches – the belt size which, at the time was unheard of in the home treadmill market. However there are now a lot of other, more affordable options that also give you the 22 inch wide belt like the Nordictrack 1750 for example.

Also, keep in mind that the treadmill does not fold up.

Bottom Line?

If you’re looking for a gym-quality runners treadmill without the $4000 price tag, you may want to consider the Sole TT8.

While it doesn’t have some of the bells and whistles of other brands, you get a super-strong deck, enhanced motor cooling system and excellent cushioning.

Where To Buy and Save:

With a treadmill this size, it’s usually best to go direct through the Manufacturer. You can also get Free Shipping and save on Sales Tax.
